The federal procurement space looks a lot different compared with just three months ago. As the country nears the 100th day of President Trump’s second term, the United States government has significantly changed under executive initiatives aimed at trimming the federal workforce and dismantling agencies in the name of cutting costs.
On Thursday, the White House released an executive order extending the federal hiring freeze until mid-July.
While change is a constant in the procurement landscape—from fluctuating budgets to an understanding that contracting is a fickle process—there has been “an unprecedented amount of changes in such a short amount of time.” That’s according to according to Kevin Brancato, a senior vice president of product strategy at TechnoMile, a software development company that helps companies find procurement opportunities.
