Hear from Sonny Hashmi, the commissioner of the U.S. General Services Administration Federal Acquisition Service, and Lauren Bracey Scheidt, Acting Director of Technology Transformation Services at the GSA, as they share an update on key procurements being driven by the GSA and other key GSA initiatives.
In his role, Sonny Hashmi oversees the delivery of more than $75B of products, services, and solutions that enable federal agencies to efficiently accomplish their missions while saving taxpayer dollars. Sonny is known as a cloud computing thought leader in the emerging technology industry. He previously served as the managing director of global government strategy at Box. Prior to Box, he served as GSA chief information officer and chief technology officer. He led the agency IT modernization strategy as GSA adopted cloud computing, agile acquisition and DevSecOps principles, and helped create a cloud computing and performance measurement roadmap for the federal government.
Lauren Bracey Scheidt was appointed the Acting Director of Technology Transformation Services (TTS) at the GSA in September 2022. The TTS applies modern methodologies and technologies to improve the public’s experience with government. Lauren is a technologist and team builder who has spent the last 20 years in public sector organizations across arts and culture, media and now government spaces. She previously served as TTS’ Acting Deputy Director and before that as a Product Manager for 18F when she joined TTS in 2021. Before TTS, Lauren worked as the Senior Director of Product for Platform at NPR.
