Col. Paul Culberson
November 2, 2020: Col. Paul Culberson was recently named the new Commander/District Engineer for the Chicago District of the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). He succeeds Col. Aaron W. Reisinger in the position. Col. Culberson was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the Corps of Engineers through ROTC from the New Mexico Military Institute in 1996. He has held numerous positions throughout his career, including his first assignment, where he served as Platoon Leader, Company Executive Officer and Assistant Brigade Engineer for the 40th Engineer Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division at Baumholder, Germany and later in his career, as Commander of the 7th Engineer Battalion, 1st Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division with service in Iraq in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. Prior to his current position, Col. Culberson previously served as Commander of Task Force Essayons, a forward deployed Engineer Task Force responsible for providing oversight of USACE support to the Combined Joint Task Force for Operation Inherent Resolve in Iraq and Syria. He holds an AA Degree from New Mexico Military Institute, a BS in Petroleum Engineering from Louisiana State University and A&M College, a MS in Geological Engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology, and a MA in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College.
