Tips to Make Dreamforce 2019 a Successful Event
November 12, 2019 By Hunter Cronier, TechnoMile Marketing and Alliances
Dreamforce is a highly anticipated annual Salesforce event that gathers a diverse Salesforce community of customers, partners, employees, and stakeholders as well as luminaries and industry leaders for four days of learning, inspiration, and fun. With more than 2,700 break-out sessions and dozens of parties spread out across downtown San Francisco, the event can seem a bit overwhelming. However, if you are attending with goals and objectives to be successful—and know what you want to get out of it— it’s not as overwhelming. I’ve attended Dreamforce several times in the past five years in various roles—as a customer, a partner, a developer, and an admin. If you’re an admin, superuser, or executive and new to Dreamforce – here are some tips for how to get the most out of it.
The Dreamforce Agenda Builder is open so start planning for your sessions now. Not sure where to get started? Check out the Trailmaps by your role and industry for ideas and more information on session tracks. I’ve also listed my recommendations for keynotes, sessions, and 1:1 consultations (geared mainly for those in government contracting, A&D, and AEC).
Dreamforce Speakers 2019
Every year, the best and brightest minds join us at Dreamforce to offer perspective, vision, and solutions for a better world. From global leaders to entrepreneurs to scientists, be prepared to be inspired! Here are just a few that will be there. See the full list.
President Barack Obama, 44th President of the United States of America
Tim Cook, CEO Apple
Emilia Clarke, Actor and Founder, SameYou
Megan Rapinoe, World Cup and Olympic Champion
Yo-Yo Ma, Cellist
Many more CEOs of well-known Fortune 100s and startups.
So you’re a Salesforce Beast or IT Executive? Either way, the keynotes that matter the most are always the most packed! Luckily, there are big-screen viewing areas set up around the fairgrounds every year to facilitate viewing. However, if you want to attend them in person, I recommend you get in line early. Bring water, a friend, and a battery backup for your phone. Check with your Salesforce rep—sometimes they can facilitate a reserved seat. Here are a few I think might be interesting:
Learn about how mobile, Einstein Discovery, Mulesoft, and more come together to drive action in the public sector.
Experts walk through new products and features that drive sales growth and share how these new innovations increase productivity and performance.
Learn best practices from top Salesforce MVPs and trailblazers for getting the most out of your investment.
Sessions tend to be a bit more focused on specific topics. These can get pretty packed as well. They frequently offer popular sessions twice—so be sure to check that out. My advice is to “PLAN AHEAD” so you’re not trying to do that at the event.

Ok… So this might sound crazy but google “Dreamforce Parties 2019” …. I kid you not—there are lots of parties, right? You can find them in all sorts of venues, from crazy hotels to cool clubs. The parties are a great networking opportunity—a place to make some new friends and to learn a lot about the Salesforce ecosystem. Are you ready for the real kicker? The parties that came up in your google search are not even close to half of the parties. The best parties are after-parties and private invite-only events. Ask your Salesforce Rep or just walk the floor at the partner center. Trust me this is where the real good time is and … also fewer people. Just saying.
